On a fishing boat off the coast in Honnavar, a coastal town in Karnataka.
Deep sea blue around me and an open clear sky, it looked like no other colour existed on earth! A fishing boat here and there, some at a distance and some so far away that i wondered if it would ever return for the day. Some of them had a single fisherman aboard the boat, seemingly sitting idle.
Could not help but think about his daily routine. Did he know when he left home at daybreak if that day's efforts would fetch dinner for him and his family? Did he enjoy the the chirping sea-birds and the gurgling waves that filled up the silence surrounding him or was he just too used to them? What does he do when he feels too lonely? Do they all meet up for a coffee break? Ha !
That gust of wind that perks us all on land, wrecks the fisherman's hopes. He turns back to the coast as dusk arrives. Sometimes content, otherwise disillusioned, depending on the catch.Would he appreciate it if i tell him how much i envy his job? How much i envy that he is the the first to be sun-drenched at dawn.
I doubt!!
